I've tried many creative mediums, from sewing tote bags and children's clothing using organic material, wet and needle felting, to painted furniture....the list goes on. I started making jewelry using sterling silver and beads about five years ago. I love the versatility of seed beads (so many luscious colors), and enjoy creating individual pieces using several different techniques and materials. This is the one creative medium I have not left for something else! The possibilities are endless.
In 2009 my husband and I went to Italy; we fell in love with it! Ancient Roman and Renaissance Florentine culture and architecture are fascinating. Of particular interest is Etruscan jewelry, made using the lost art of granulation. A favorite pastime of mine is researching these exquisite pieces, and thinking of ways to incorporate some of those design elements into my own, using seed beads.
I have sold my jewelry locally, and love to share it with family and friends. My goal now is to bring to fruition my dream of earning a living as a jewelry artist. I hope you find something here that reflects your own personal style, and enjoy wearing it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
